Our Foundations

Family Life International (FLI) is a Catholic Pro-Life/Pro-Family non-profit making, world-wide organisation. The organisation was founded by Fr. Paul Marx, O.S.B., Ph.D., as Human Life International and today it is serving on every continent working to educate, inform people of good will about the evil of abortion, birth control and population control under the name of Family Life International.

Our Mission

FLI fulfils its mission to promote and defend the sanctity of life and the dignity of the family around the world through prayer, education and service. FLI is totally loyal to the Holy Father and the Magisterium, and is also ecumenical in nature in that we work with people of all faiths to promote the cause of life.

Family Life International exists to restore respect for the sanctity of life from the moment of conception through to natural death, and to restore the pre-eminence of the traditional family as paramount in God’s plan. We work to save babies from abortion, to tell women the truth about contraception, to teach chastity to teenagers, and to fight the insidious onslaught of the population control movement that promotes abortion and contraception as methods of worldwide “Family Planning.”

The Culture

The family, the foundation upon which society is built is under attack. The abandonment of traditional values has lead to wide scale social problems. These include an ever-increasing divorce rates, significant increases in children born outside of marriage, education without values, the elderly and sick at risk through euthanasia.

Our society is engrossed in a culture which no longer supports the most vulnerable in our society be it because they are unwanted or inconvenient.

Our Organisation

As an educational apostolate, FLI holds regional, national and international conferences. We invite leading experts to talk on the most critical issues of our time. Our guests leave these conferences strengthened in their faith, and better equipped to combat the Culture of Death in their communities.

As such we do not have a membership, but we are totally reliant on donations. Some of the works we are undertaking in the UK include running pro-life seminars and conferences up and down the country; we support couples preparing for marriage and those already married in many ways including teaching natural family planning and help them to prepare their children for the teen years. We organise talks / presentations in schools, promoting the Church’s Teaching, on such issues as chastity, the family, parenthood, the consequences of cohabitation, contraception and abortion. We run a number of activities with the youth such as media training, leadership courses and talks in colleges and universities.

As Christians, we are called to become the light of the world, and it is our vocation to spread the light of Christ in a world, which is full of confusion. We ask you to join us in this most important work.
