Media Training
We are running a series of media training events in London to help Catholics to develop communication skills. These events are designed to help Catholics become more media savvy when presenting and articulating their beliefs relating to Faith and Pro-Life issues.
Where and when:
The 2nd and 3rd events are planned for the 4th and 11th September, and will be held at the Near Westminster Cathedral, Hinsley Room, London Victoria from 2pm – 5:30pm. If you would like to attend please contact us as soon as possible, as we have limited places.
These events are designed to:
- Help attendees formulate their ideas so that they may be more persuasive to the audience.
- Develop techniques to achieve this in the spoken and visual media.
- Improve non-verbal and verbal communication skills.
- Manage difficult interview sessions.
- Encourage participants to develop their knowledge in Faith and Pro-life issues.
- Know how to answer questions clarity and make valid points.
How do we achieve these objectives?
Attendees will play several active roles which will be recorded and replayed to help reflect and improve techniques. The roles will include;
- Interview sessions.
- Interactive audience.
- Being a critic providing positive criticism to help others
- Reviewing examples of professional interviews on Faith and Life issues
- Allowing participants to present a topic of their choice uninterrupted, for 90-120 seconds
Techniques
We will be:
- Looking at both verbal and non-verbal communication.
- Looking at content and how it is presented in a cogent structured way.
- Looking at how attendees respond to questions.
- Looking at techniques to engage the audience intellectually and emotionally.
- Looking at language and the words used to give advantage to your point of view.
Develop Knowledge
Attendees should study two or three areas of interest relating to the Faith or Pro-Life issues which they can present on and answer questions competently. We will also be providing materials to help develop basic knowledge. These will include:
- Use of short video’s
- Reading materials on CD
- Putting together questions and answers on a variety of subjects
