Childrens Life Choices

Helping our children to make good Life Choices

By Greg & Aghi Clovis

This programme was developed by Family Life International (HLI-UK) to support parents when trying to give their children a good Christian formation.

Today our children are under continual pressure to conform to secular and materialistic norms often leading to destructive behaviours and the excesses of modern life.

Our young are encouraged to become sexually permissive at early ages, to use birth control and have abortion without the knowledge of their parents. The are introduced to alcohol, drugs and elicited materials in the media at early ages often without the awareness of their parents.

Over the last two generations, parent have lost confidence in themselves, that they are the child’s primary educators and must take on the responsibility to pass on Christian values.

Parents to have been put under pressure, with difficult work-home lifestyles, the rapid changes in information children are introduced to in schools leaving parents feeling they are out of their depth and should leave the moral formation to the experts.

FLI’s programme is designed to help parent rethink what it is they want for their children and to develop strategies which will inoculate their children from the worst of the excesses of secular atheism with its emphasis on value-neutral sex mores.

The programme give parents some insight as to what they need to do to ensure that their children have the best moral start in life. It promotes the long held view that if children have a good belief system it will influence their behaviour and good behaviours have good outcomes.

The programme is in two parts, each lasting about 50 minutes (but it can be shorten to suit the time given). Generally, the programme is given to parents with a Christian (Catholic) background, although adjustment can be made.

We generally do these presentations to new parents, parents of First Communion Children and parents sending their children to secondary school for the first time. If you would like further information on this or other, FLI programmes please do not hesitate to contact us.
